Last fall we spent time traveling around in the Plain States taking the dirt roads to see what we might come across in our travels. We enjoy when the blacktop ends and the dirt roads start. It is usually on these old back roads we stumble onto old farming communities that were abandon when the railroads left the area. The old towns and buildings are slowing falling to the ground, and in many locations we only saw the remains of old structures lying in a pile of heap. This particular church was in the middle of nowhere with no towns or houses for miles around. It was puzzling why this church was build so far from any community. It had a small cemetery behind the church that was being kept up by someone that must have relatives buried there. It was a stormy day with rain and the roads got muddy, but when we found this church it was worth the mud we collected on our vehicle that day.
