In October of 2022 we spent a couple of days tent camping at Cathedral Gorge State Park in Nevada. This location offers a dramatic landscape of eroded clay that gives the feeling of bing on a lunar landscape. I chose to photograph this colorful landscape just after sunset to revel more detail and to soften the shadows in the scene. I often will start photographing just after sunset and will continue until a point where most of the ambient light has faded away and night has set in. This public recreation area has many miles of trails to hike with narrow slot canyon to explore.

Cathedral Gorge
We recently returned from a two week camping trip in Nevada and enjoyed the vast and empty landscape of that area. Most of Nevada is owned be the BLM - Bureau of Land Management and we were free to camp most anyplace we desired. In the eastern part of the state we visited Cathedral Gorge State Park. It has numerous slot canyons with a moonscape look. Nevada is a great place to travel and explore with its open range and wilderness areas.
